Job Description  

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

This position must become knowledgeable in the processing of asphalt refining of crude oil into the specified by-products as directed by higher authority. Must be able to operate lines, pumps, valves - their locations & functions, all electrical switches/controls - their locations & functions, all steam water, gas, lines, valves, gauges, and their locations /functions, all emergency cut off switches, their locations & functions. Including by performing the following duties. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. And other duties may be assigned and subject to change due to business necessity.  Responsible for knowledge of proper settings and their results pertaining to the Weigh Master.  Proper formulation of all products according to department work flow protocol.  Reports and Documents all reports, records, and information on daily activities to shift supervisor. 

  • This position must maintain sufficient training progress in classroom training, job specific training, and inter active module training.

 

  • Unloads materials off of tank trucks.
  • Must be able to complete inter-active training modules on Pumps & Process Safety including Lockout / Tag-Out procedures. 

 

  • Become knowledgeable in the processing of asphalt refining of crude oil into the specified by-products as directed by higher authority.
  • Documents all reports, records, and information concerning his/her day activities.

 

  • Must maintain sufficient training progress including classroom training, job specific training, and inter-active training modules on Piping, and valves. 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Physically be able to operate pumps, valves, gauges, and Lift 50 lbs.   The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; squat, stoop, kneel, climb or balance use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.  The employee is occasionally required to crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear move quickly in some occasions.  Physically be able to operate pumps, valves, gauges, and lift 50 pounds. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.  Climb up stairs/ladders and descend stairs/ladders to 70feet continuously throughout the work shift.

While performing the duty of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; and extreme heat.  The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Hearing: Ability to hear detailed telephone and two way radio instructions in the presence of background noise are required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Education: High School Diploma/GED Equivalent
Experience: 500hrs of experience in Pumper/Loader position (or equivalent). Some computer knowledge.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, TRAININGS
40-hour HAZMAT Training with 8-hour annual refresher training.
