Job Description
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
This position must become knowledgeable in the processing of asphalt into the specified by-products as directed by higher authority. Must be able to operate blowers, pumps, valves and know their locations & functions, familiarization with all electrical switches/controls - their locations & functions, familiarization with all steam, water and gas lines, valves, gauges and their locations/functions, all emergency cut off switches, their locations & functions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Includes the following, and other duties may be assigned and/or subject to change due to business necessity. Responsible for knowledge of proper settings and their results pertaining to the AB Plant. Proper formulation of all products according to department work flow protocol. Reports and documents all reports, records, and information on daily activities to shift supervisor.
- This position must maintain sufficient training progress in classroom training, job specific training, and inter active module training.
- Responsible for knowledge of proper settings and their results pertaining to the AB Plant, and the proper formulation of all products by his/her department.
- Unloads materials off of tank trucks.
- Must be able to complete inter-active training modules on Pumps, Process Safety (including Lockout / Tag-Out procedures), Piping, Valves, etc.
- Documents all reports, records, and information concerning his/her day activities.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must have good communication skills. Must Speak Read and Write English (Spanish a plus). Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Physically be able to operate pumps, valves, gauges, and Lift 40 lbs. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, squat, stoop, kneel, climb or balance, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to crouch or crawl, talk or hear in load areas, move quickly on some occasions. Physically be able to operate pumps, valves and gauges. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. Climb up stairs/ladders and descend stairs/ladders to 70feet continuously throughout the work shift.

While performing the duty of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Hearing: Ability to hear detailed telephone and two way radio instructions in the presence of background noise are required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Education: High School Diploma/GED Equivalent
Experience: 500hrs of experience in Pumper/Loader position (or equivalent). Some computer knowledge.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, TRAININGS
40-hour HAZMAT Training with 8-hour annual refresher training.
